M30 Consortium Meeting in Gliwice, Poland
In June, the METALLICO project consortium gathered in Gliwice, Poland, for its M30 consortium meeting. The event, hosted by our partner IMN (Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals), brought together representatives from all project partners for two days of presentations, discussions, and planning.
The main objective of the meeting was to review the work completed over the past six months and to align the next steps since the project enters a key phase: the upscaling of the five innovative metal recovery processes. Each process, based on different raw materials and recovery technologies, was discussed in detail. Partners shared updates on latest results, challenges faced during the upscaling preparation, and the upcoming strategies for the pilot plants.
Special attention was given to ensuring that all five processes are ready to move forward toward pilot implementation. This phase will be critical for demonstrating the technical and economic viability of METALLICO’s circular and sustainable solutions for lithium, cobalt, nickel, manganese, copper and zinc recovery.
Beyond the technical sessions, the meeting also served to strengthen collaboration between partners. The visit to IMN’s facilities was one of the highlights of the event. Attendees had the chance to see first-hand the impressive research infrastructure and pilot-scale equipment available at IMN, which will play an important role in the next stages of the project.
